Lisbeth Salander is in intensive care at a Swedish hospital fighting for her life.  She has been shot three times, once in the head.  If she recovers she will be tried for the murders of three people.

Mikael Blomkvist is working to prove Salander’s innocence and finds a conspiracy within the Swedish government that has international implications.  To get documentation of evidence he needs her help.   Salander will need the help of several people she knows in cyberspace.  Asking for help is not easy for her and trusting others is even harder.   Lisbeth begins to understand that life is best lived with the give and take of friendship.

Like The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire Larsson weaves a tale of violence and intrigue and friendships tested.  He develops complicated characters and intricate plots of good versus evil. This is last book of the trilogy.  Each novel stands on its own–together they are powerful.
